SYNTHEMA | Synthetic Haematological Data

Now at month 30, the SYNTHEMA project marks a key transition in its development. During a two-day plenary meeting held in Ghent on May 12 and 13, clinical and technical teams presented milestone achievements and outlined upcoming objectives. With initial validations completed, the project is moving from parallel development to integrated collaboration. This coordinated approach will enhance progress in applying AI-based methods for anonymisation and synthetic data generation in rare haematological diseases.

The meeting featured focused discussions on workflow alignment, technical coordination, and clinical applicability. As SYNTHEMA enters its final phase, partners are refining processes to ensure that research outcomes translate effectively into practical, privacy-preserving tools. The event was hosted by the European Institute for Innovation Through Health Data, with special thanks to Nathan Lea for enabling a productive and well-organised exchange.
